Alise Rombs

Indigenous Relations Advisor

Alise Rombs, who is of proud Metis ancestry, possesses extensive expertise in Indigenous Health, particularly within our region.

Alise is a faculty member in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Northwestern Polytechnic. She is a Registered Nurse and holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Education. As a content expert in Indigenous Health in Canada, Alise teaches this subject to 3–5 classes of students each academic year. Alise has resided in northern Alberta for the greater part of her life, and lives in the County of GP with her husband and three young children.

Throughout her years at NWP, she has organized land-based learning on the GPRH land, participated in medicine walks with Elders, and arranged traditional Indigenous ceremonies and teachings for students, faculty, and community members. Moreover, she has cultivated enduring relationships with local residents and has served as the contact for collaborative opportunities related to Indigenous Health proposed by the University of Alberta.
